Spoilt for choice

Innsbruck and the surrounding region have a long and proud wintersports tradition dating back centuries. Innsbruck has hosted the Winter Olympics on two separate occasions as well as many world championships and other major sporting events. Sporting highlights in and around Innsbruck include:

  • Lots of ski resorts such as Patscherkofel in Igls, Elferlifte in Neustift, Schlick 2000 in Fulpmes, Nordkette in Innsbruck
  • Wide selection of toboggan runs
  • Cross-country skiing in Seefeld

Perched above Igls is the small chapel of Heiligwasser, a popular place of pilgrimage in centuries past. The walk to get there is easy and leads from our hotel along the "Heiligwasserweg" trail past the bottom of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car up to the chapel.

  • Distance: 7km (there and back)
  • Uphill: 370 vertical metres
  • Walking time: 3 hours (there and back)

We offer a selection of guided walks and hikes for all ages and fitness levels as part of our weekly exercise programme. Here are a few of our favourite spots:
